We had been discussing the PDU unit as a whole but there is a part of the PDU we need to know more about the different types of PDU Sockets where the equipment is plugged.

Different countries have different types of PDU sockets, with different electrical and mechanical specifications. The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) has also published specifications for a range of PDU sockets. In the IT industry, the IEC-specified PDU sockets are more popular, especially the IEC C13 (10A) and the IEC C19 (20A).
